- Abstract
The ageing infrastructure of waterways requires regular dive inspections at low sight within fluid mud. Therefore, the owners have to spend a lot of time and workforce to inspect, assess and repair the infrastructure. Within the partly funded project by the BMVI we are about to develop a Multi-Sensor-System which simultaneously measures the above and underwater port structures and therefore decreases the inspection time and reduces the service costs. To realize high precision results and high resolutions of a few centimeters an active measurement process with dynamic orientation of the sensors and an autonomous routing is developed. First tests show that the 3D HydroMapper enables highly precise and comprehensive inspections. Damages can therefore be detected over the underwater areas. The measurements can also be used to derive the structures stress level in order to estimate the remaining lifetime.
